Location: Chicago with minimal travel required
Experience - Preferred / Required: 3 to 5 years
Candidate should have experience in the AEC Industry, working
knowledge of the principles and practices of Infrastructure project
design development and construction management and well versed
with the interdependencies of tasks involved in the Design Development
and Construction process. The job requires a comprehensive knowledge
of engineering construction principles and practices including
demonstrated project management skills, oral and written communication
skills, and change management skills. Ability to apply advanced
engineering planning principles and practices to a variety of
complex Infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Supports the Construction/Project
Manager to facilitate a well managed project. Performs all responsibilities
in a professional and ethical manner.
Estimates
new projects, determines scope, and answers subcontractor questions.
Estimates change
orders; requests pricing for PCO's. Evaluates subcontractor change
orders for accuracy and fairness.
Evaluates,
prepares and distributes appropriate RFI's.
Gathers,
prepares, reviews, and distributes submittals. Along with the
CM/PM manages the submittal schedule and
the procurement process.
Distributes
drawings to subcontractors; maintains drawing revision log.
Maintains
extensive contact with subcontractors.
Updates
the project schedule as required.
Attends
job walks.
Is able
to perform project management responsibilities on small projects.
Understand how to analyze and estimate cost of potential new projects
for feasibility/due diligence, work with and manage Owner/Architect/Consultant/Contractor
team from design initiation through the program lifecycle including
bid/negotiation/ contracting, construction including project close-out.
Qualifications:
Candidates will typically have 3-5 years experience in the AEC
Industry with major studies in engineering, and/or combination
of related experience and/or education. The successful candidate
will possess experience in project controls.
